Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Some overtime will be available.
Salary: will be $20.00 to $40.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.
Experience: A & B TOWING will provide training..
Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Driver’s Licence (Class 3 or D), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.
Type of Trucking and Equipment: Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles), Flatbed
Type of Travel: Short-haul, Local, Provincial/territorial
Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation
Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone
Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Loading and unloading of goods, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, Drive lighter, special purpose trucks, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness, Perform preventive maintenance, Perform emergency roadside repairs
Additional Skills: Mountain driving expertise, Professionalism in customer service, Handle inquiries from customers, Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques
Security and Safety: Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract)
Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding
Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence
